Open Web Mind is a knowledge hypergraph that holds all human knowledge.

But it’s not a monolith.

It’s made up of many individual minds.

My mind.

Your mind.

Each mind is its own knowledge hypergraph.

My mind holds my knowledge.

Your mind holds your knowledge.

These individual knowledge hypergraphs intersect.

I have my knowledge of Antarctica...

...and you have yours.

I have my knowledge of elephants...

...and you have yours.

I have my knowledge of quantum mechanics...

...and you have yours.

So my knowledge hypergraph has different edges from yours, but these edges are between the same nodes, the nodes for Antarctica, elephants and quantum mechanics.

Which means that I can meld my mind with yours, meld my hypergraph with yours, meld my knowledge with yours.

It’s like the knowledge we hold in our heads.

I know some of the same things you know. And I know some things you don’t know. And you know some things I don’t know.

But we can talk.

You and I know different things about elephants, Antarctica and quantum mechanics, but we use the same words for these things: “elephant”, “Antarctica”, “quantum mechanics”.

By talking, we can combine our knowledge: I can learn from you, and you can learn from me.

Open Web Mind takes this to a whole new level.

By melding my mind with your mind...

...I don’t have to learn from you, I can simply think as if my mind and your mind were one.

So when I think of Antarctica, I have access to your knowledge of Antarctica as well as mine...

...when I think of elephants, I have access to your knowledge of elephants as well as mine:

...and when I think of quantum mechanics, I have access to your knowledge of quantum mechanics as well as mine:

And it doesn’t stop with your mind.

I can meld my mind with the minds of all the people I know.

I can meld my mind with the minds of people I don’t know, but do respect: podcasters’ minds; authors’ minds; technologists’ minds; artists’ minds.

I can meld my mind with minds that hold collective knowledge beyond that of any one person: the core countries mind; the Wall Street Journal mind; the Wolfram Physics Project mind; the Wikipedia mind.

These minds need not be hosted on the same server. They can be hosted on different servers distributed across the globe.

By melding your mind with other minds, you can think as if your mind and those other minds were one.

Open Web Mind is a billion knowledge hypergraphs that hold a billion individuals’ and institutions’ knowledge, melded into a combined knowledge hypergraph that holds all human knowledge.

It’s a billion minds, melded into humanity’s mind.
